Grange Hall Reservations
The Grange is available and affordable for group meetings, family functions, private parties, and public events all year round. In the past year organizations and individuals have rented the Grange for business meetings and conferences, fundraising dances, readings, baby showers, family reunions, rummage sales and craft fairs. Check our Calendar page for the date you are interested in reserving to see if the Grange is available.
The Grange Main Hall has a full stage with a professional lighting system. It has a 130-seat capacity in a performance-style set up: 95 seats on the main floor and 25 in the balcony. We have a state-of-the-art sound system in the main hall, available for additional charge.
Banquet tables and chairs are also available for use. We have 6 8-foot and 6 6-foot rectangular folding tables. Please call for details.
Thanks to a grant from the Essex Community Fund, we now have a portable screen and laptop projector available for a small fee. The screen is a good size for presentations. We also have an easy-to-use, in-house audio system with wireless microphone for meetings.
The Grange Kitchen has been certified by the NYS Department of Health for commercial use. It has a 6-burner gas stove with oven, 3-bay sink and 2-bay prep sink, commercial refrigerator and freezer, commercial dishwasher, substantial space for food preparation and is fully equipped with cookware. See the photos below. The kitchen is available to groups renting the Grange for events, and for shared-use activities (canning, processing) or for rent for value-add producers. NEW! June 2012: The ground floor multi-purpose room has just been completely renovated with new doors and windows, new lighting, and a handicapped accessible bathroom. It has a separate entrance from the outside and easy loading and unloading. The kitchen opens into the multi-purpose room and has a serving window. It's a great space for meetings, lectures, dinners, receptions and provides full, two-floor use of the building for larger events.
The building is fully heated and has its own parking lot. There is a handicapped-accessible ramp from the parking lot to the main hall. There are two rest rooms on the main floor and one on the ground floor. We've hosted sit-down dinners, wedding receptions with catered food and outdoor barbecues in recent months. The Grange is an economical space to hold events. We are a non-profit organization and set rental rates to cover the cost of maintaining the building. Please e-mail us with details of your event so we can give you an estimate of the cost.
